BARDSTOWN, KY--Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., producers of the full line of The Christian Brothers Ports and Sherries, has announced that the six varieties of dessert wines captured 14 medals, including a "Best of Show" and "Best of Class", at recent top wine competitions in California. Highlighted by a Gold Medal/Best of Show for the Ruby Port at the Orange County Fair--the largest and most comprehensive judging of California wines in the world--and a Gold Medal/Best of Class for the Dry Sherry at the California State Fair, The Christian Brothers dessert wines turned in their best showing yet. In total, the line captured 4 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 Bronze medals at both these competitions and the Los Angeles County Fair, which also included international wines in their event judging.

Produced at The Christian Brothers facilities in Sonoma, the ports and sherries are crafted in the European tradition from premium California varietal grapes and are barrel-aged in oak casks to provide balanced flavor. Six varieties are available in both 750ml and 1.5 liter sizes--Dry Sherry, Cream Sherry, Golden Sherry, Ruby Port and Tawny Port--and the rare Meloso Cream Sherry is available in the 750 ml size only.
