In addition to the more well-known Bourbons and Scotch Whiskies,
Heaven Hill Distilleries also produces a variety of American Whiskey products,
such as Straight Rye Whiskeys, Straight Corn Whiskeys, Blended Whiskeys and
the only Wheat Whiskey in the industry. |
 |

Heaven Hill may indeed be the only distillery left where these distinct whiskey
styles are all still produced, all according to time-honored processes and
formulae that are again finding popularity with a new generation of whiskey
lovers.

Bernheim Original Straight Wheat Whiskey is the first truly new
variety of American straight whiskey introduced since Prohibition.
Bernheim uses soft winter wheat for a soft, sweet flavor and
medium finish. The whiskey is produced at the namesake Bernheim
Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky as a small batch and aged in
Rickhouse Y at Heaven Hills Bardstown, Nelson County facilities.

Produced in the tradition of the classic Pennsylvania or Monongahela rye whiskies,
Rittenhouse is a much acclaimed rye now enjoying a renaissance in the major
metro markets of the country. Available in the standard 80° bottling or
in a special Bottled In Bond expression, Rittenhouse is a tribute to the classic
rye whiskies that were once the preeminent American whiskey style, kept alive
through the many lean years by Heaven Hill and two other Kentucky distilleries.

Representative of the other great rye whiskey style, the Maryland or Potomac
style, Pikesville Supreme offers the sharp, fruity nose and spicy, full-bodied
palate so treasured by connoisseurs of American Rye Whiskey. A rare bottling,
it is now winning over converts in international markets as well, where rye
is considered a seldom seen treasure.

Once the preeminent whiskey type, American Blended Whiskeys still enjoy great
popularity throughout the country. Built from a careful blending of a number
of constituent whiskeys, brands such as Kentucky Deluxe and Philadelphia continue
to be strong sellers in many parts of the nation. Heaven Hill also produces
blended whiskeys under the Kentucky Beau, T.W. Samuels, Heaven Hill, Wilson
and Gukenheimer labels, among others.

The forerunner and kissing cousin to Bourbon, American Straight Corn Whiskey
is defined by the US Government as having a recipe or mashbill with a minimum
of 81% corn, the rest being malted barley and rye. Today, Heaven Hill is the
sole remaining national producer of this uniquely American Whiskey style, bottling
such classic names as Georgia Moon, Mellow Corn, Dixie Dew and J.W. Corn. As
world-renowned whiskey writer Jim Murray wrote, If you are a true student of
whiskey, your education is a long way from being complete until you have mastered
this particularly charming form.

What was once a booming distillery business in Canada has dwindled to only 4
distillery sites, with two of them producing the lion's share of the country's
output. But Canadian Whisky (note the lack of the e in whisky) has always
been prized as a gentle, delicate whisky style that suits American palates well
and remains very popular, particularly in the northern states. Harwood Canadian
Whisky is a long-established brand and one of America's top selling labels.
